[Listen] San Fermin - "Daedalus (What We Have)”"
Something brand new for you today from Brooklyn. Ellis Ludwig-Leone is a rather talented songwriter and composer and he's behind a project called San Fermin who've just announced a self-titled debut album which is due for release on November 4th via Downtown Records. The brass section and arrangements make you feel instantly comfortable and warm. It's like a big firm embrace from and old friend. The only thing is, you've never met this person before. They're a new friend. Absolutely lovely stuff. Treat yourself to a hug and check out the new single "Daedalus" below.
[Watch] YADi - "Creatures" (Official Video)
We've mentioned the uber talented YADi a few times here on SKOA, most recently was via a video for her track "The Blow". She's now unveiled a brand new single, "Creatures", and you can watch the official video below. Capturing a retro vibe, the clip was filmed on a super eight camera and takes inspiration from one of YADi’s favourite films, The Colour of Pomegranates. I for one am very excited to see what else this promising young lady has to offer in the rest of 2013.
You can pick up the single over here.
[Listen] FIDLAR - "Red Right Hand" (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds Cover)
Cast your mind back to 1994, for me I was just starting School, learning how to colour in, maybe tie my own shoes too via some Rabbit Ears rhyme. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds released "Red Right Hand" in 1994 though, and since then there have been numerous covers. Back in 2009, Arctic Monkeys added it to their live set, then released it as a B-Side to "Crying Lighting", remember that? Today though we get another take on the track from our favourite new LA band, FIDLAR. Check out the slackers interpretation below. Perfect for a morning break from whatever it is your supposed to be doing right now.
In case you missed it too, check out their brilliant Nick Offerman featuring video for "Cocaine" over here.
[Listen] The 1975 - "M.O.N.E.Y."
Another day closer to the release of The 1975's self-titled debut album, and we get another track set to feature on it. The good folk at Prefix have just premiered "M.O.N.E.Y", a funky guitar lined track that shows that the band are not all about the pop bangers you've most likely heard all over the radio in recent months. Check out the band showing some different colours below. It's set to feature their album, so be sure to look out for it when it's released next week via the lovely people at Dirty Hit.
[Watch] Danny Brown - "ODB" (Official Video)
Everyone seems pretty hyped for Danny Brown's upcoming album, Old, which is set for release next month on September 30th via Fool’s Gold. According to Pitchfork, the album is set to feature some pretty tasty guest spots from the likes of ScHoolboy Q, Rustie, ASAP Rocky, Purity Ring, A-Trak, Charli XCX and Freddie Gibbs. He's just offered up a track from it titled "ODB" which is a mind melting rap track which comes packaged with some equally disturbing visuals. Check it out below.
[Album Stream] Check out the debut self-titled album from NO CEREMONY ///
I first got wind of the mysterious NO CEREMONY /// back in 2011 via their track "HURTLOVE", after that though they kind of fell off my radar a bit. That was until earlier this month though when some new tracks appeared along with a self titled album which is set for release on September 2nd. Following the release, the band have lined up a rather brilliant support slot at London's Roundhouse with The Pixies. Their album is definitely one of my favourites from recent months though and you can stream it in full below via Line of Best Fit.
[Listen] Eminem - "Berzerk"
Following his Reading and Leeds Festival slots last weekend, in which he brought out Dido and Royce Da 5'9", Eminem has let loose a brand new single. Titled "Berzerk", it's an energy packed, Beastie Boys sampling 4 minute rollercoaster. I've not enjoyed an Eminem this much for quite a while. That's just me though, see for yourselves below.
Along with the single comes news of The Marshall Mathers LP 2, which will be released on November 5th. I have a feeling this is going to be big.
[Watch] Franz Ferdinand Cover Grimes' "Oblivion"

For a band that doesn't veer too far from a sound that works (see: Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action), Franz Ferdinand completely surprised us this morning. During a visit to French radio station Ouï FM, they took on Grimes' glistening, synth-laden track "Oblivion." With nought but two acoustic guitars and vocal chords, the Scottish quartet turned the song into a calming ballad complete with romantic harmonies. It sure came from out of the blue, but damn is it worth a listen.
