[Watch] The Accidentals - "Odyssey" (Official Video)
Take a hazy stroll through the world of The Accidentals in their latest video, "Odyssey", which is the title track of their debut album which was released over the summer. The throws off nothing but folk-chestral pop vibes, blending their folk sensibilities with sugary sweet vocals.
The band is currently on tour in support of their album and will be on the road through mid-November.
[SONG OF THE DAY] HABITS - "Work"
If you live for a sweaty circle pit and think it wasn't a good show unless the singer bled a little, please enjoy this angsty anthem from North Wales post-punk outfit HABITS. "Work", which comes from their latest EP, Falling Fluent, eloquently details the plight of the millennial: a generation who is aspirational, overworked, and underpaid. An EP described by singer Sam Davies as, "a meditation on fucking up," Falling Fluent, whilst overwhelmingly nihilistic in nature, is superbly succinct with its subject matter, which varies from hopelessness and self destruction to jealousy and romantic failure. There's little room for misinterpretation with what the five-piece is trying to convey as each track rolls on.
The band recently performed a sold out EP release show in their hometown at the popular arts space Pie Records and have a string of dates left for the remainder of the year. If you're like me and can't wait to hear more from these guys, fear not, they are working on both new material and more tour dates for 2018.
HABITS TOUR DATES
Nov 9th - New Cross Inn, London with Group Of Man
Nov 17th - Dead Good Gathering Festival, Liverpool
Dec 31st - Gullivers, Manchester
[SONG OF THE DAY] Saints Of Valory - "Red Smoke"
Last week Austin-rockers Saints of Valory released their third single, "Red Smoke", a sultry departure from "Painkiller" and "Set It On Fire" that came before it. All three songs come from the trios sophomore full length coming next year. Details forthcoming.
The band will be joining Imagine Dragons, Dashboard Confessional, and Banners on December 2nd at the 93.3 KTCL Not So Silent Night holiday concert in Colorado. Tickets are available now so grab them while you can.
[SONG OF THE DAY] GGOOLLDD - "The Way That I Feel"
Okay I'm about to have a personal growth moment with regards to bands with an annoying amount of extra letters in their name just so they can have something original because GGOOOODD LLOORRDDEE YY''AALLLL GGOOLLDD IISS SSOO GGOODDAAMMNN GGOOOODD.
From their upcoming EP, TEETH, which drops on December 1st, feast your ears on "The Way That I Feel". While their other tracks, "Excelsior Springs" and "Secrets" are more glimmering straight up synth pop, "The Way That I Feel" takes a sharp turn into raucously uncharted territory for the band which honestly suits them really well.
The band just recently wrapped their North American headlining tour and have announced a run of west coast dates supporting The Sounds next month before ending the year with a massive NYE show @ Turner Ballroom in Milwaukee.

11/8 — Santa Ana, CA @ Observatory*

[SONG OF THE DAY] Sego - "Sucker / Saint"
credit: Arash Armin
Earlier this week LA duo Sego released their latest single, "Sucker / Saint". The song is a follow up to last month's "Whatever Forever", both which come from the batch of songs the band recorded with Dave Newfeld (who is known for his work with Broken Social Scene).
The band will be supporting Ok Go at their sold-out SF Fillmore show on 11/2.
If you can't make it to any of their upcoming shows, be sure to follow these dudes on The Gram in the meantime. They are quite entertaining to keep tabs on there.
SEGO TOUR DATES:
10/26 — San Diego, CA @ Blonde Bar
11/2 — San Francisco, CA @ The Fillmore*

[Watch] Butter - "Lifted" (Official Video)
ohhh myyy godddd what is this video?! I need to watch this another like 20 times to make sure I properly bask in its majesty. This is the weird shit I live for.
After releasing this confectionery-esque concoction last month, LA's Butter has unveiled the video for, "Lifted", which is out courtesy of We Are: The Guard.
Y'all know I can get down with refrigerators humping and the like, but I think it's the deadpan sexy vibes that Butter is throwing that had me HOWLING and unable to look away at this video for three consecutive plays.
Danin Jacquay aka Death Cats directed this quirky ass clip and incorporates some unlikely props in the wonderfully whacky neon world of "Lifted".
I am literally just so impressed that someone could cuddle up to spaghetti like that and never flinch. Or maybe there was a lot of flinching in the outtakes? I don't even care I have to go watch this again.
Also between her name and the weirdness of the video I just want to post every whacked out Paula Dean meme I can find for the rest of the day.
Here, I'll leave you with my favorite:
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
[SONG OF THE DAY] Gaffa Tape Sandy - "Beehive"
Given that it's Friday it's only appropriate that I provide y'all with the soundtrack to getting into trouble this weekend.
Enter: this trio of grimy rock kids. Gaffa Tape Sandy, hailing from Bury St Edmunds
Given that it's Friday it's only appropriate that I provide y'all with the soundtrack to getting into trouble this weekend.
Enter: this trio of grimy rock kids. Gaffa Tape Sandy, hailing from Bury St Edmunds. After releasing their Spring Killing EP back in April and performing the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury Festival, the band returns with a quick followup, the appropriately titled, "Beehive". The track is busy busy busy with buzzing guitars, perfectly punctuated snarls, and just the amount of cow bell.
If you happen to be on that side of the pond, there's a few shows coming up in the next few weeks, so go check them out if you can.
GAFFA TAPE SANDY DATES
26 Oct – Blue Moon, Cambridge (supporting Bloody Knees)
27 Oct – V Bar, Colchester (supporting Pet Needs)
02 Dec – The Hunter Club, Bury St Edmunds
Experience Beck's New Album 'Colors" In NYC, LA, Chicago, Seattle
We're down to just 3 sleeps until Beck's new album, Colors, is finally here!
I've been waiting for sunshiny happy Beck to come back for so so long that I am about to leap out of my skin I am so excited.
In addition to playing "Dreams", "Wow", "Dear Life", and "Up All Night" an unhealthy amount of times, pre-ordering the over the top super deluxe album bundle, and snagging a spot at tonight's album listening party at Sonos in Soho, I was just alerted of new ways to extend the celebration.
Earlier today a new Twitter account called @beckpopups surfaced with information about some pop up "experiences" Colors in major US markets. If you happen to live in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, or Seattle you'll be able to head out this weekend and "experience Colors".....whatever that means. I'm assuming since these venues are all markets that there's gonna be some sweet Colors - centric merch on sale.
Whatever, you know I'm going.
See you there?
