[Watch] Yellow Ostrich - "The Shakedown" (Official Video)

The new video for Yellow Ostrich's song "The Shakedown," from their sophomore LP Strange Land, premiered yesterday on NYLON, and it sees the band going low budget. Directed by the band themselves, this is what lead singer/guitarist Alex Schaaf had to say: "We made this video ourselves in Michael's basement. With no budget and minimal gear, we explored the beauty of darkness. The white light represents the past, and the black light represents the future. Should I stay or should I go?" Watch it above.

[Listen] Yellow Ostrich - 'Strange Land' (Full Album Stream)

Yellow Ostrich's highly anticipated sophomore album Strange Land, the quick-to-release follow-up to last year's The Mistress, is out today via Barsuk Records, and Paste Magazine has made the entire album available to stream. When speaking of the album, singer and guitarist Alex Schaaf said that The Mistress was a guy in a bedroom,” and that "Strange Land is a band. In a slightly bigger room.” The entirety of Strange Land can be heard below.

[Listen] Yellow Ostrich - "Marathon Runner"

Less than six months after the release of their debut album The Mistress, New York indie rock outfit Yellow Ostrich are readying yet another full-length LP titled Strange Land. Courtesy of SPIN.com, you can listen to and download the first cut from the upcoming album titled "Marathon Runner," which sees the band melding together a unique combination of tUnE-yArDs-esque vocal looping meets Death Cab for Cutie meets Local Natives. All in all, from the sound of this song, Strange Land should be a fantastic album.

Strange Land is due out on March 6th, and, after the jump, you can check out the tracklisting for the album as well as the band's upcoming tour dates.
