[Listen] The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart - "Jeremy"
credit: Pavla KopecnaYou know how sometimes you see a bands name in passing a zillion times and you're brain is just too full of other new music to ever give them a chance? I hate to admit that this was nearly the fate for The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart. As luck would have it, however, the musical universe was just waiting for this day and this song to introduce me into their world. Out this coming Tuesday (10/9) on 7", their a-side cover of the Magnetic Fields song "Jeremy" was built for sunny Fridays after a long week of humidity and stupid amounts of rain as my fellow New Yorkers and I have been enduring all week. Somewhere in between the shimmery strums of the guitars, the subtle percussion, and the sugary sweet harmonies you will feel all the weight of a rough week fall off and your whole body starts to feel ligther almost instantly.
For those picking up the 7" courtesy of Play It Again Sam next week will also be able to enjoy their cover of East River Pipe's "My Life Is Wrong" on the b-side. For now, enjoy "Jeremy" below.

[Listen] Fun Adults - "Acacia"

I think we'd all like to think we can relate to this band. Fun Adults. If you're not a fun adult what are you? A boring adult? Well you could be one of the members of this band in which case by default you'd actually be a Fun Adult, right... Whatever, the guys have released a new track titled "Acacia" following up "Sap Solid" and it's a bit more of an electrical upbeat number but it's still filled with beautiful melodies throughout. It's set for release as a double a-side single October 15th via Tough Love. See what you think of it below and hey, it's Friday, we can all be fun today!
[Watch] Findlay - "Your Sister" (Official Video)
Remember last month when we introduced you to the talented Mancunian female going by the name of Findlay? No? Well don't worry about it as we're going to get familiar again with a video for her track "Your Sister". You can grab yourself a download of the track over on her official site. It's easy to see where the young talent draws her inspiration from with the blues rock of The White Stripes oozing through the seams. The choppy nature of the video also portrays the energy that the song carries.
Very excited to hear more from her. If you missed it when we posted it last month, check another track titled "You Gave Me Grace" here.
