[Album Stream] Wavves - 'Afraid of Heights'

So summer is a few months away, yeah, I know it doesn't feel like it and the weather pretty much sucks everywhere right now, but how about we listen to some music that makes you want to go driving along the coast with the top down? I'm talking about the new album from Wavves titled Afraid of Heights. It's not set to be released until next week but the good folk at NPR are streaming it a week early and it's a raw and powerful, anxiety filled 45 minute romp through fuzzy guitars and sing along choruses. Perfect to start your week to. 

Afraid of Heights is officially released on March 26th via Mom & Pop.

[Watch] The Joy Formidable - "Little Blimp" (Official Video)

Taken from their latest album Wolf's Law, The Joy Formidable have returned with a slightly different take on the live footage video. For the track "Little Blimp", a camera has been attached to Rhiannon's guitar head making for a POV type take on their live performances. Bouncing, rocking and generally having a pretty damn good time. See for yourselves above and see if ou can back me up on the guitar flipping from right to left handed in parts? Mirrored imaging or have I just missed that Ritzy's ambidextrous all this time?

Last night saw SXSW come to a close, and Vampire Weekend made good use of the occasion, debuting two new songs from Modern Vampires of the City. Watch fan-captured footage of "Diane Young" and "Ya Hey" below.

Modern Vampires of the City, Vampire Weekend's third album, is out on May 7th.

[Listen] James Blake - "Voyeur" (Album Version)

James Blake takes to BBC Radio once again to drop some new music from his upcoming sophomore album Overgrown. This time it's the album version of "Voyeur", which we previously heard the "dub version" of not too long ago. Prepare yourself for four-and-a-half minutes of flourishing avant-garde production.

Going back to the "dub version" of "Voyeur", the song will be released as a single through Blake's label 1-800 Dinosaur along with a b-side titled "And Holy Ghost". Just a few days back, Blake let loose this b-side on Benji B's BBC Radio 1 program, and you can stream a radio rip below.

Overgrown is out on April 8th via Republic Records.

[Listen] AlunaGeorge Cover "I Wanna Be Like You" from The Jungle Book

AlunaGeorge dig deeper into the Disney vault after modernizing fairy tales earlier this week, this time focusing on The Jungle Book. For those who remember the 1967 film, it featured a ton of memorable songs that, for me at least, have stuck around well past childhood. AluneGeorge decided to cover Louis Prima's "I Wanna Be Like You" during a BBC Radio 1 live set, and their take on the classic is pretty fantastic. Stream it below.

Body Works, AlunaGeorge's debut album, is out on July 1st.

[Watch] Chistopher Owens' Video for "Here We Go Again"

Christopher Owens' solo debut Lysandre, which was released earlier this year, was a bit of a departure for the former Girls frontman. His new, cheerier direction is visualized in the new video for "Here We Go Again", with Owens showing some teeth and having a good time. Check it out above.

While we wait for Major Lazer's sophomore album Free the Universe, which has had multiple delays, the Diplo-led project is making up for it with three free mixtapes. The first, Vol. 1, was released a few weeks back and now they've offered up Vol. 2. This one features remixes of "Original Don", "Jah No Partial" and "Get Free" along with a Baauer rework.
