By now we're used to Wayne Coyne and the Flaming Lips throwing out some left field ideas when it comes to not just music but the way in which they release it. Yesterday another crazy idea came from the bands camp, word got out that they are planning on recording a they are recording a song that's six hours long. The reason for doing so is to benefit the Central Oklahoma Humane Society and the Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma. Pitchfork reports that fans can pay $100 to feature in the song and get their name slotted into the lyrics at some point in the 6 hour music marathon that is to be titled, "Found a Star on the Ground".
