[Watch] Björk sings Joy Division x Biophilia instrumental

It's everyone's favourite Icelandic popstar, Björk singing Karaoke to save the world! What more could you want to feast your eyes on today? She did it as part of a karaoke rally to recruit signatures for a petition against Magma Energy’s proposed takeover of her native country’s energy production. So it's kind of a big deal! In a press release:

Elves, hidden people, sports people, hobby musicians and professionals … everyone who cares for Iceland, come and join forces and perform a powerful ode to the nature of Iceland… Let’s bring our natural resources back to us with song.

As part of the 3 day singathon she covered Joy Divisions "Love Will tear Us Apart" and did a duet with Ómar Ragnarsson. Up top you can see her solo effort of Joy Division and her duet after the jump.

In an unusually busy week for Björk as she is making music for an iPad app about the planets and stars (via Pitchfork). The app in question is called Solar System and features “3D realizations” of our solar system accompanied by a three-minute instrumental piece from Björk which has been "adapted by Björk from her forthcoming Biophilia project”. You can also hear that track after the jump. Phew, she's been busy recently! Thanks to TwentyFourBit for the video heads up.
