We saw Sharon Van Etten perform "Serpents" yesterday on Later... with Jools Holland and then shortly after that she went and dropped a brand new video for the track "Magic Chords" taken from year’s Tramp. The video sees Sharon dressed as a pilgrim down by the river and it's a little creepy throughout, it is October after all. By creepy I mean there's a tonne of dead bodies littering the woods and the water she bathes in. The video does advise viewer discretion as the corpses I mentioned are indeed naked. Directed by Rick Alverson you can see it above.
As well as that performance from Jessie Ware that we saw not too long ago on Later... with Jools Holland, we also got to see Sharon Van Etten return to the television screens for the first time since way back at the start of the year. She performed her track "Serpents" with the help of her band and you can watch it at the top. Nice use of an Ebow at the start of the track. Always fun to play around with those.
If you missed previous performances from Jools this year, jump over here.
Sharon Van Etten returned to the TV screens of many in the US last night with a performance on Conan O'Brien's TV slot. Earlier in the year we saw her visit Kimmel to perform "Serpents", and we also saw a great sounding performance of "Leonard" for i-N Session, last night she chose to perform that track again and the results can be seen up at the top via The Audio Perv.
Tramp is out now.
After watching Sharon Van Etten perform "Serpents" on Jimmy Kimmel at the beginning of the year it's been hard to get that tune out of my head. It's been getting more than a few spins a day and radio play on 6Music, so today comes as an added bonus, if like me, you really want to wrap your ears around her new and third LP, Tramp. Courtesy of NPR you can give it a try before you buy a whole week before it is released on the 7th of February via Jagjaguwar.
It was safe to say that Sharon Van Etten's performance of "Serpents" on Kimmel was enough to get a lot of hype going for the release of Tramp. That track though was all we had to whet our appetites for the release but now via i-N Session we have another new track taken from that album. See what you make of the aptly named Leonard up at the top and look out for the release of Tramp come February 7th. Not too long now.
As we look forward to her third LP, Tramp, last night Sharon Van Etten made it a evening to remember with another note worthy late night performance. Making her network TV debut on Fallon she performed "Serpents" much to the delight of many. Us included. Peep it at the top via The Audio Perv.
Tramp will be on shelves come the 7th of February courtesy of the more than trustworthy Jagjaguwar!
